The Fishersgate Community Association - What We’re About
This site is promoted by the FISHERSGATE COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
The Fishersgate Community Association has only ever had one purpose: to empower the residents of Fishersgate to make their own decisions about what they want for their community. Many people came together over several years to bring the Dome Project to life. It was a bitter disappointment that so much good will and hard work was stopped in its tracks. The Trustees didn’t and don’t have the money like big companies, or the staff and facilities like the Local Authorities, MPs and Charities. But we do have something bigger, more important and longer lasting: We Care about our Community, and we don’t and we won’t give up.
The Community Association is a Charity. It was sued for money it didn’t owe, for work that was a disgrace to the construction industry so the Association counter-sued and it won. Judge Kennedy’s judgement can be downloaded or read online in the Documents and Proposal section of this site. Our next task is to use the money from the fire insurance claim that was paid over into the keeping Adur District Council, and the interest it has gathered since then, to restore the Rink and Community Hall to use, to complete the Sports changing rooms and to replace the unfinished Dome with a new Link building. We will do it; and for anyone who thinks we won’t, remember - we know where the bodies are buried.
Have a look at the Proposals. Say what you think. Give us your advice. Lend your support it will be repaid.
